Starcrest Protectorate Mechs
→ See also: The Starcrest Protectorate
Protectorate designs are brutal and workmanlike, favoring armor, intimidation, and close-range violence. Many are built to survive ugly fights on industrial worlds and contested borders.
Protectorate mechs are heavier than comparable mechs of other factions, and the Protectorate yields super heavy mechs beyond the weight limits that other factions can produce.

Mech Entries
Assault
- Neanderthal (NEA-R8, 700 tons): The Neanderthal earned its name during testing, where its sheer, blunt brutality demolished mock fortresses in minutes. It remains the Protectorate’s premier siege breaker, a mech that embodies unrefined but devastating power.
- Barbarian (BAR-N8, 750 tons): The Barbarian embodies the Protectorate’s doctrine of raw shock power. With its crushing fist, heavy lasers, and layered autoguns, it thrives in brutal close-quarters fighting where finesse is meaningless and only overwhelming force decides the outcome.
- Overlord (OVR-L1, 800 tons): The Overlord was created as a command mech for Protectorate strike groups, its size and armament meant to dominate attention. Though later fielded in greater numbers, its reputation as a battlefield overseer still clings to it.
Brawler
- Harbinger (HAR-G9, 550 tons): Named for its role as a herald of destruction, the Harbinger combines brute force with relentless suppressive fire. Its battle fist and vulkan cannon hammer enemies at close range, while laser support ensures there is no safe angle of approach.
- Jackal (JCK-L4, 550 tons): Known as the “stormcrow” of the Protectorate, the Harbinger often appears at the outset of offensives, signaling devastation to come. Its combination of fists, vulkan, and lasers makes it a herald of annihilation as much as a front-line bruiser.
- Beast (BST-R3, 600 tons): The Beast traces back to Protectorate shock-divisions raised from penal battalions. Pilots dubbed it for its savage ultra-vulkan recoil and feral silhouette, and the name stuck. Today it remains a terror weapon, more feared than refined.
- Instigator (INS-G9, 600 tons): The Instigator is a line-breaker, built to provoke chaos. Its heavy cannon and rocket payload drive enemies from cover, while laser fire harasses stragglers. True to its name, it starts fights the Protectorate intends to finish.
- Razorback (RZK-7B, 650 tons): With its distinctive armored ridges, the Razorback resembles the boar for which it is named. It first entered service during the Dust Marches, where its heavy autogun and laser battery carved corridors through smoke-choked canyons.
Missile Skirmisher
- Reaver (RVR-N5, 450 tons): First deployed during the Black Hills Campaign, the Reaver became infamous for tearing through lighter mechs with its crushing fist and rockets. Its brutal reputation lingers; to Protectorate troops, a Reaver on the field is a promise of broken lines.
Striker
- War Dog (WAR-D1, 400 tons): One of the oldest fielded designs in the Protectorate arsenal, the War Dog earned its name in decades of border wars where packs of them ran down raiders under cover of smoke. Reliable and loyal in function, it remains a cornerstone of Protectorate doctrine.
Superheavy Assault
- Berserker (BER-Z3, 850 tons): The Berserker channels raw ferocity into every engagement. Its crushing fist and banks of medium lasers let it drive headlong into enemy lines, while smoke rounds shroud its reckless advance. It is feared less for precision than for the chaos it unleashes up close.
- Thunder God (TDR-G7, 950 tons): The Thunder God takes its name from its battlefield presence—heavy cannons and vulkans that echo like storms breaking over the horizon. Protectorate lore holds that its arrival signals the final hammerblow of a campaign.
- Doomhammer (DOOM-H2, 1000 tons): The Doomhammer was first forged to break stone bunkers and hardened enemy positions. With massive vulkans and crushing fists, it still fulfills that grim role, delivering hammerblows of smoke and fire to erase dug-in resistance.
- Infernal (INF-L9, 1000 tons): The Infernal’s earliest deployments left entire valleys scorched black, and its fire-spewing design cemented its apocalyptic reputation. Protectorate commanders often use it as a psychological weapon as much as a physical one.
- Brute Machine (BRT-100R, 1050 tons): A product of rushed wartime design, the Brute Machine was derided for its inelegance but proved itself by sheer weight of fire. Its survival and adoption are proof of the Protectorate’s core belief: overwhelming force wins wars.
- Cromagnon (CRM-N2, 1100 tons): The Cromagnon’s name came from rival houses mocking its primitive simplicity—until Protectorate pilots smashed through their most advanced fortifications. Now it is worn with pride, a blunt instrument that proves sophistication isn’t always required.
- Juggernaut (JGR-N6, 1100 tons): The second heaviest mech ever fielded in the Core, the Juggernaut was first deployed to break the sieges of the Border Wars, where its unstoppable advance became legend. With layered armor, a crushing fist, and a mix of rockets, lasers, and autoguns, it grinds forward until resistance collapses. Entire fortresses have fallen simply by being in its path.
- Ragnarok (RGK-5000K, 1200 tons): The largest mech ever fielded, the Ragnarok is the end made metal. A terrifying opponent in close ranges, it is heavily armed with vulkans, cannons, and scorcher systems and turns battlefields into apocalyptic wastelands. Wherever it marches, smoke and ruin follow, sealing the fate of all who oppose the Protectorate.
